This past Tuesday night, I waited for 6-7 hours in line to get Victor Cruz’s autograph and picture. He is a wide receiver for the New York Giants. When I got ready to get his picture with him, he said “ Hi !”. That made me feel very happy. After I got the picture, we saw a huge line waiting for their turn. My Dad and I got back on line for his autograph this time. We waited about 2 hours. When I got closer, Victor said ,”How are you?” and I said, “Good!”. Before I left, I said, “Good Luck with the Super Bowl!”. It was the best day of my life!

Did you know that some people don’t even know who Martin Luther King Jr. is ? Well if you’re one of those people, he is the person who stopped racism for part of the world. Martin Luther King Jr. Day is remembered today for the man who was assassinated many years ago. His famous words were, “Live your Dream” and that is exactly what he did. When Martin was a kid, he saw water fountains that said, “Black Only” or “White Only”. Martin didn’t like these signs, so he decided then that he wanted to make a difference. He worked hard to make a difference for everyone. So be thankful for Martin Luther King Jr. Day, because he had a dream! He changed our life’s forever.
The school district will have its annual tribute to Dr. King Jr. this Wednesday night at the high school. Students from throughout the district will celebrate Dr. King’s vision. The event will start at 7:00 PM in William J. Sweeney Performance Hall.

I went to see Peter Pan in the theater at Madison Square Garden. My family had a special connection that got us wonderful seats. Our connection was Tom Hewitt, the man that plays Captain Hook in the play. He was very generous to reserve two house seats for our family.
During the show, Cathy Rigby played Peter Pan and did lots of flips. During the curtain call, Cathy flew into the audience and threw pixie dust (sparkles) into the audience. If people reading this article don’t know Cathy, she was a gymnast and was also in a Peter Pan movie.
There were so many things to enjoy even before the show. The snacks and service were some of the very best we have ever seen. We don’t want this review to be a spoiler so we won’t say much about the ending. We rate this musical 5 stars out of 5. We recommend anyone to go see this musical. It’s a feel good happy play. Hurry Peter Pan will leave New York City soon and go back to Never Land!

Our school is doing a lot of fundraisers in the months of late November and December. Some fundraisers are for less fortunate people to use during the holiday season. The fundraisers for these people are the food drive, the coat drive, and Toys for Tots. Another fundraiser is for my Girl Scout troop. We collected stuffed animals that are gently used or new. These stuffed animals will be given to hospitals, nursing homes and children’s homes. The drop box was in the AMS and LMS lobbies.

No one starts out kind. When we are born all we know how to do is want. We want food, we want attention, and we want someone to do everything for us. Kindness is also something that you have to gain, mold, and mature through time. Also it might be hard to find the kindness in people, some people may even doubt that it’s there, but remember to always look for the kindness in yourself and others. Try to spread your kindness, because you never know how much of an impact it can have on others. In the new year, think about showing more kindness.
Nanowriomo
Mrs.Bryant, Mrs. Arnouts, and Mrs. Forsythe are participating in an event called Nanowrimo. National Novel Writing Month happens every November! It’s a fun writing event where the challenge is to complete an entire novel in just 30 days. That means participants begin writing November 1 and must finish by midnight, November 30. The word-count goal for the adult program is 50,000 words, but the Young Writers Program (YWP) allows 17-and-under participants to set reasonable, yet challenging, individual word-count goals. Many students are coming close to or have finished their word goal.
Mix It Up Day took place in October. Students got to mix it up. The fun was led by Community Servive Club. LaGrange Middle School students were given a number either in homeroom or at lunch and were required to sit at that numbered table, in order to make new friends. Reganne, a 6th grade student, said that it was entertaining and a great way to make new friends. Nia in 8th grade disagreed and said it did’nt do anything for her and she did’nt like it. It was not a great experience for some people but for others, they had fun and made new friends. The Community Service Club did a great job at planning Mix It Up Day!
Have you ever heard of endangered organisms? Many of us have. Some of us have a desire to help them. But do you know exactly which organisms are in trouble? Why don’t we take a baby and see which ones are where we live in New York? Researching on www. Fishkillridgecommunityheritage.org, and www.allaboutwildlife.com I found these helpless organisms:
· Karner blue butterflies
· Grey wolves
· Bald eagles
· Mud turtle
· Leatherback turtles
· Tiger salamanders
· Bluebreast darter fish
· Tomah mayfly butterflies
· Blue whales
· Humpback whales
There are still many other endangered organisms even outside of New York. So why don’t we all pitch in and help them? You might say “I don’t know how to!” but that shouldn’t be an excuse! All you have to do is make a donation, try to stop hunting animals, be more informed, and a big one: STOP POLLUTING!!!!!
